Carson Pass Art and Artists
The beauty of Carson Pass attracts artists and photographers from across the country. Among their favorite subjects are the falls colors in Hope Valley, the mountain scenes around Silver and Caples lakes, and the dramatic peaks of the Sierra Crest. In the past, both Sorensen's Resort and Kit Carson Lodge have sponsored art workshops led by leading regional artists as part of their regular programs.
Sorensen's has recently changed hands twice and is now Desolation Hotel. The new owners may continue the tradition of local history talks, music and yoga at the resort. Perhaps in the future they will even renew the tradition of art workshops. Check their events calendar for upcoming happenings: Desolation Hotel.
