Caples Lake Area Campgrounds
Three National Forest campgrounds are located near Caples Lake. Caples Lake Campground is the only one of the three recommended for RVs or trailers. It is located directly across the highway from the lake and Caples Lake Resort, making it a favorite location for those who want to fish, swim, boat, or hike. A 5 MPH speed limit is imposed on the lake.
The other two campgrounds - at Kirkwood Lake and Woods Lake - are recommended for tent camping only. Motorized boats are not allowed on those lakes. None of the campgrounds take reservations.
