Carson Pass Resorts and Lodges

A number of great resorts and lodges are located along Carson Pass from Pine Grove up through Lower Bear Lake Reservoir, Silver and Caples lakes, and across the pass in the Hope Valley. Most offer a variety of accommodations from tent camping and RV sites to rustic cabins or luxury lodges.

Gold Country Campground Resort - Pine Grove

Bear River Lake Resort

Bear River Lake Resort, on the shore of Lower Bear River Reservoir, offers camping and cabins, water skiing and fishing, hiking and various outdoor sports. At an elevation of 5,800 feet, Lower Bear River Reservoir is often open before any of the other large lakes higher on the pass.

Plasse's Resort - Silver Lake

Plasse's Resort was originally the home of French immigrant Ramon Pierre Plasse who settled there along the Carson River Emigrant Trail in 1853. Today Plasse's is a popular camping and RV resort near the southern end of Silver Lake. It includes the Thunder Mountain Restaurant, a general store, sports areas, and canoe and kayak rentals. Open early June to mid-September.

Kit Carson Lodge - Silver Lake

Kit Carson Lodge has been a favorite destination at Silver Lake for over 80 years. Established in 1926 the lodge includes 19 cottages and 8 hotel rooms within its scenic 12 acres along the shore. Also available at the lodge are a restaurant, boat rentals, a swimming beach, and art gallery.

Caples Lake Resort

Caples Lake Resort has spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. They offer a main lodge, lodge rooms and housekeeping cabins, a marina with boat rentals, and access to great hiking and fishing. The resort is open from Memorial Day through October and then again from Christmas time until April.
